Urvi
Listen to Urvi's story
Urvi grew up in Bombay in a large, close-knit family, where childhood was filled with laughter, shared holidays, and a strong sense of togetherness. Although her wider family roots were in Gujarat, her education and professional life unfolded in Bombay, where she trained as a dietician and went on to work intensively for over a decade. It was work she deeply loved. Alongside clinical knowledge, Urvi developed a nuanced understanding of the emotional relationship people have with food, recognising that eating is rarely just physical, but often bound up with comfort, loss, celebration, and care. This insight shaped her professional approach and left a lasting impression on her practice.

Life in India was full and vibrant. Alongside demanding work, Urvi nurtured many interests, such as aromatherapy and crochet, reflecting her curiosity and love of learning. She describes her outlook simply as “let’s see what happens” – an openness that guided many of her life choices. At 36, she moved to London, a transition she likens to a fast train. Arriving just before the COVID period, the shift from a busy professional life to stillness brought uncertainty, but also space for reflection and adaptation
Becoming a mother during this time marked a profound chapter. Urvi speaks with warmth about motherhood, her hopes for her daughter, and her desire to rediscover and reshape her professional voice in time. Grounded, reflective, and quietly resilient, her story is one of continuity as much as change – carrying forward values of care, curiosity, and connection while remaining open to what comes next.
